James Anhalt is known as that eccentric guy who wanders in the mountains of New Mexico wearing a beat-up old hat that his trail-dog Harley, sat on once too often. After growing up around the family’s Studebaker dealership on the south-side of St Paul, he began gathering stories from extraordinary people in extraordinary places like Greenland, Guatemala, London, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Then he spent 41 years in a television career, many of them as Director of Engineering and Operations at the New York Times broadcast headquarters. In 2007 he moved to Santa Fe and started a new career as an author.
